Cookie policy

This policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on puddlebury.co.uk. For more on how we use personal data, see our privacy notice.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website saves on your device. Some are needed for the site to work. Others help measure visits or ads. Similar technologies, such as tracking pixels, can do the same jobs. In this policy, "cookies" includes them.

Essential cookies

We always use these, because our website needs them to work. The law allows this without your consent.

  • puddlebury_session keeps your basket and session working. It lasts 14 days.
  • XSRF-TOKEN protects our forms from a type of attack called cross-site request forgery. It lasts 14 days.
  • pb_consent remembers your cookie choices. It lasts 6 months.

When you pay, you'll use Stripe's secure checkout. Stripe uses its own essential cookies to process payments and prevent fraud. Stripe's cookie policy explains these.

Optional cookies

We only use these if we've switched the service on and you've said yes in our cookie banner. If you say no, or don't choose, we won't use them.

Analytics

Google Analytics (from Google Ireland Ltd) helps us understand how people use our website.

  • _ga tells visitors apart. It lasts up to 2 years.
  • _ga_<id> keeps track of your visit. It lasts up to 2 years.

Marketing

These help us measure and improve our ads.

  • _fbp is set by the Meta Pixel (from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd). It helps Meta measure our ads and show them to the right people. It lasts about 3 months.
  • _ttp is set by the TikTok Pixel (from TikTok Technology Ltd). It helps TikTok measure our ads and show them to the right people. It lasts about 13 months.

Meta and TikTok may also use this information for their own purposes, under their own privacy policies.

Counting visits without cookies

We count visits with a counter built into our website. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't store your IP address. Our privacy notice explains how it works.

Changing your choices

You can change your mind at any time. Select "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of our website, such as your basket, won't work.
